Friends we are too unbalanced.
by sleepy inwell sometimes we are.. look we have the knowledge and experience to help a lot of people.must of us have one time been jw's and understand how many think.so lets not put them off by being too negative.. when we were witnesses most of us were quite happy .
we tried to be good people , to put into practise principles that many people think are good.
we did this sometimes even when we didn't want to , because we thought god would hold us accountable and because we cared for people .

It is confusing.
Trying to give a beloved family member the benefit of the doubt.
They are good hearted people. On the surface they seem like they would give you the shirt off their back... or...you can trust them, they are not allowed to lie, cheat, etc.
But when the line is drawn in the sand so to speak, God vs. Org
a husband will emotionally attack wife, mother - daughter, son - father, etc. to defend the printing company.
As an elder once told me (with a pitiful look on his face)
QUOTE "Loyalty to the organization is more important than the truth."
Lying (even to one's self) becomes essential to defend the "truth".
This sort of treatment is half expected from strangers but if you can't count on your own family when the chips are down then what?
These are the situations that define people.
Ultimately selfishness wins and people choose to SAVE themselves even if it doesn't sit right. -

I came across an interesting item when researching Hanakah.
These were the same Jews who authored & revered the OT.
Back in 165 BC their holy temple was taken over by the Greeks and desecrated. After about 3 years, (going by memory) in 168 BC they took back their temple and re-dedicated it to God on about Dec. 25th!!! Then the miracle of the oil happened.That is why they light the menorah candles (keep lamp lit til the messaih comes) and display them in the windows, give children gifts and or money, and have special meals. They actually do this for 8 days!
Now when Jesus arrived some believed, some didn't. Some keep Hanakah, some celebrate the birth of that awaited messiah. Both obviously celebrate with lights, gifts, & food as they join family & friends to praise and thank God.Interesting.

Breaking Through Cognitive Dissonance?

Lately I've been working on a different approach and seems to let me say my piece without too much argument.
I start a conversation - recently, the UN thing, (choose any) important bits & pieces, (managed - "like pope running abortion clinics on the sly!") and end my sentences with weather comments and a question, something like... would you like chicken or steak for supper.
There is a moment of confusion, rain acknowledged then the answer comes "chicken sounds good"

Notice how quickly certain "angles" of theology are defended when one has been "prepared" for "said angle" (alpha-omega as 1 example)
But as soon as the "teacher" has been exposed of teaching one thing yet printing another - that which directly goes against its own teaching, the deception is ignored, and there is no comment.
It has been 10 days since there was a comment here. I'm not refering to the opinions that this debate goes no where, I agree, I'm referring to those who hold the opinion taught by liars who use the "it goes nowhere" to avoid facing the fact the "teacher" here is a ravenous wolf in sheep's clothing disguising itself as an angel of light.
Defend your truth or run away?
Opinions are opinions, how you arrive at these opinions is something to consider. No one toting the "party" line can face the *foot-note* dilema, because it feels like your soul has just been raped.
Sad but this is the truth.

jesus was before adam and he tells the pharisees that he's god's son.. that's what makes them mad *lol* .

According to Jer. 10:11, all gods that have not made the heavens and the earth shall perish. It clearly means that if the Christ is "a god" not the creator but some sort of secondary god, then Christ will perish!
Jer. 10:11 "The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, event they shall perish."
I think this is contrary to the passage where Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever?
Add this to 2 creation stories in the bible, 2 flood stories, ahhh -

Anytime I have mentioned this,
the person I am talking to gets a shocked look on their face like its a brand new passage in the bible that has just been added
then they ask if I am humble enough to accept the truth
then there is a story about how in THIS instance it means the first and last Adam.

Long time lurker, my first post
I don’t really have an opinion to offer but
I do know whose opinion I give no credit to.A while back I “stumbled” onto an enlightening view held by the writers of the Society’s spirit directed literature.
On the CD, (newer one 99 or 2000) taken from WT June 15, 1979 as well as the purple Interlinear:

[Who Is Like God?]“……………At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 the voice of the resurrected Lord* Jesus Christ is described as being that of an archangel, suggesting that he is, in fact, himself the archangel. This text depicts HIM as descending from heaven with a commanding call……..”
Who is HIM?
If one checks the footnote attached to the word Lord* in this verse one sees that it is none other than Jehovah HIMself who descends.This of course is not what they teach. Using discernment with this little gem among many others, one can only test this spirit to see where it originates.
Any thoughts? Is this a 20 yr old typo? More deception? Just one more place where they missed editing the NWT? 1st Century conspiracy? Denial? Angel worship?
Been lovin the UN stuff, wish I could spread the WORD.
